Every week, we're asked the same question: how does JodiSoul actually decide who to match with whom? The short answer is: not by horoscope, not by height, and definitely not just by photo.
The Problem With Most Matching Algorithms
Most apps optimise for engagement — they show you profiles that make you swipe, not profiles that make you stay. This is great for metrics and terrible for marriages. JodiSoul is built around a fundamentally different goal: long-term compatibility, not short-term attraction.

The Five Dimensions We Measure
- Values alignment — how you think about family, finances, children, and faith.
- Life stage compatibility — where you are in your career, housing, and readiness for commitment.
- Communication style — introvert vs. extrovert signals, conflict resolution preferences.
- Family structure expectations — joint family, nuclear, or flexible — and how you feel about it.
- Long-term vision — where you want to live, how you want to grow, what success means to you.
What We Deliberately Ignore
We intentionally deprioritise factors that research shows don't predict long-term happiness: identical hobbies (complementary interests often work better), the same taste in music, or matching education tiers. Two people who both love trekking but disagree fundamentally on whether to live near family are not a good match.
How It Improves Over Time
Our algorithm learns from every interaction — not just swipes, but conversation length, response time, and whether connections lead to video calls. The more you engage authentically, the better the matches become. The system is not static; it grows with you.
We're currently in beta for a new feature called Values Deep Dive — an optional 15-minute questionnaire that dramatically improves match quality. Early data shows a 3.4x improvement in connections that lead to in-person meetings. We'll be rolling it out to all users later this month.
